DEADLY Dan Carter threatened to rival the professionals that used to grace Littleton in Saturday's 4-0 bashing of Bolehall Swifts.

The striker took to 18 his tally for the campaign so far by notching each of his side's goals in a comfortable Midland League Division One triumph.

Each of the strikes arrived before half-time to get club officials thumbing the record books for the highest number of goals in one match.

It transpired that the standard had been set by Joe Lolley, now at Huddersfield Town, and QPR's Matt Smith with six apiece but Carter could not add to his haul after the interval.

Littleton attacked from the off and the first goal flew in after 14 minutes as Carter notched from eight yards having twisted and shot across the keeper.

Another drive across goal saw the second go in moments later with the hat-trick brought up when Carter latched on to a clever lob by Brett Fellows to beat the keeper from close range. Carter rounded off the scoring by rifling in a Steve Roche cross.

To their credit, Bolehall played some neat football without making an impact in the final third with Littleton moving on to an away match at Coventry Copsewood on Saturday (3pm).
