CROPTHORNE became the third Evesham & District Sunday League side to lift a county honour this season with a penalty shoot-out success in the Worcestershire Sunday Minor Cup.
Goalkeeper Andy Taylor was the hero, saving a spot-kick before Tom Boother powered home for a 5-4 win after a 1-1 draw against Kidderminster-based Spennells United at Bewdley Town.
Adam Borton gave Cropthorne a third-minute lead, racing on to a through ball before calmly slotting past the advancing keeper.
Spennells levelled midway through the second half but Cropthorne held their nerve.
It marked the league’s first Worcestershire junior and minor cup double on the back of Bretforton Old Boys winning the former two weeks previously.
Alderton also won the Gloucestershire Sunday Intermediate Cup.
