SIX martial artists from Worcestershire have enjoyed success on the national stage.
Karate students from Kimura Shukokai Federation clubs in Birlingham and Drakes Broughton scooped medals at the Kimura Cup National Championships in Halesowen.
James Gribble won gold in the 16 to 17 years old Kumite (fighting) category, while Sam Waller took bronze in the same discipline. Ashan Abbas also claimed a silver medal in the boy’s 13 to15 years old Kumite.
Lewis Maskell, Ashan Abbas and Ali Abbas also won bronze in the boy’s 13 to 15 years old team Kumite event.
Shukokai Karate Federation chief instructor Shihan Eddie Daniels, eighth Dan, said he was pleased with the club’s performance.
They meet at Birlingham village hall on Friday from 7pm to 8.30pm and at Drakes Broughton village hall from 7.15pm to 8.30pm on Tuesdays.
