Alveston u14s 4, Brackley u14s 1.

ALVESTON welcomed Brackley and it was the home side that started livelier and were playing some lovely flowing football.

The hosts soon found themselves 1-0 up with a scrappy goal bundled in by skipper Paul McHugh.

Alveston then made the mistake of sitting back and allowing Brackley into the game and it was the away team who threatened more and deservedly got their equaliser through a defensive error.

Alveston couldn’t find their rhythm and for 15 minutes were sloppy as the solid Jack Raymond in the home goal was kept busy.

But it was the home side who grabbed the next goal with the lively Johnny Adair linking onto a long through ball from Taran Baghria and lobbing the keeper.

This seemed to settle Alveston and it was them who created the better chances with Liam Miller involved in everything they did as it was 2-1 at half-time.

Alveston changed the formation slightly for the second-half, with the introduction of Brad McKinty and Luke Taylor later on seeming to lift the home side.

For much of the half they were on top with both McHugh and Adair grabbing their well-deserved brace.

Alveston played much better football and got what they deserved in the second-half to take a 4-1 victory.

The previous week, Alveston u14s beat Bath United u14s 5-1.

Badsey Rangers u13s 3, Crowle Searchers u13s 0.

BADSEY won this game in the first- half when they created good chances and took three of them.

The first came from a brilliant corner by Charlie Banning that was met with accuracy and power by the impressive Ryan Attwood.

Moments later a great through ball by Aaron Jelfs was met by Banning, who calmly fired home.

Five minutes before half-time Tom Benfield broke down the left and he fed Banning and with one great touch, produced a magnificent shot that flew in to the net.

With Nathan Bolland and Robbie Wallace totally in control of the midfield it was a surprise there weren’t any more goals.

Crowle u9s 1, Evesham United u9s 7.

FROM the first whistle Evesham piled the pressure on but could not find the net.

This was until a great dummy from Ryan Beasley wrong-footed four players and his cross was met by Sam Rogers.

Good pressure from Max Danby led to Beasley getting a second.

Crowle didn’t stop battling but could not find a way past Aiden Shelton in goal who made three great one-on-one saves.

The second-half saw Evesham score at regular intervals through Shelton, Dan Walker and JD Cole, who got a hat-trick.

Evesham United u12s 2, Broadway United u12s 3.

EVESHAM started the brighter and raced into a two-goal lead thanks to two fine finishes from the hard-working Adam Ayres.

Evesham were playing some good passing football with Will Price, Harry Tayler and Tom Dee creating a number of chances for Oliver Allcock.

The Evesham defence of Harry Brown and Luc Allberry was being well marshalled by skipper Jamie Bearcroft and were coping well with the few attacks Broadway managed.

Broadway got a lifeline back into the game when home keeper Dan Johnson was beaten by a thunderbolt of a shot just before half-time.

Broadway controlled the second-half, but Evesham held out well but two late goals, one in the third minute of injury time, left the hosts still looking for their first points of the season.

Evesham United Robins u12s 3, Charlton Rovers u12s 1.

CHARLTON Rovers from Cheltenham didn’t let Evesham settle and they struggled for 20 minutes but, as they found their feet, Charlton scored. This was a wake-up call which made Evesham come back into the game and just before half-time, after a mix-up caused by Johnathon Robinson and Jack Rogers in the Charlton defence, Dominic Taylor pounced on a loose ball to equalise.

After the break, Evesham wanted it more and started to dominate with Ryan Reeves and Harry Jacobs winning the tackles and the ball.

From a Bradley Izod corner, William Warren flicked the ball on and Ben Ainsworth headed a fine goal. Great defending by Jack Starkey and Tariq Lamb ensured Charlton didn’t get back into the game. From another corner by Izod, Jack Starkey headed a nice goal at the near post to make it a hard-earned win.

West Hagley u16s 2, Broadway United Youth u16s 3.

BROADWAY United produced an excellent second-half performance to reach the quarter-final of the Worcestershire County Cup.

After a disappointing first-half for them, Broadway trailed a 2-0 at the break.

However, an excellent second-half team turn around saw Broadway dominate, and within five minutes James Schembri scored a well-worked headed goal.

Man-of-the-match Sam Steele then produced an excellent long-range effort which flew into the top corner to make the match even.

The Broadway winner came from a rare mistake from the West Hagley goalkeeper which allowed Ben Hoskin to finish from close-range.

Sheppey Swifts u13s 0, Pershore Town u13s 1.

PERSHORE’S Ed MacIlveney pounced close-in 15 minutes from time in this Evesham Ambassador League clash when the Sheppey defence failed to clear Marlon Vella’s cross.

Pershore started the liveliest, forcing two early corners, before towering defender Rob Shepherd ran 70 yards from deep in his own half to shoot into the side-netting.

Slowly, Sheppey began to find their rhythm and when Dan Evans combined with Ollie Brothwood to set up Cavan Ryan, the striker was unlucky to see his effort go wide.

MacIlveney’s goal after 55 minutes stunned Sheppey and he almost added a second moments later as he beat the defence for pace, but Rogers saved.

Elsewhere, Badsey Rangers u13s beat Crowle Searchers u13s 3-0 and Badsey Rangers u16s beat Worcester City Youth AFC u16s 10-0.
