EVESHAM'S Mike Tustin picked up two wins in Mallory Park's East Midland Racing Association Club Championship.

Although the weather was unkind and Tustin treated the contests as valuable track time, he also secured two third places, a fourth and a sixth from six races.

The Vale rider and Team MTR also tackled round five of the Ducati TriOptions Cup at Brands Hatch GP.

Their main aim was to beat last year's lap times and Tustin managed that in practice before being satisfied with 17th place in qualifying.

But a gearing set-up gamble did not pay off for the team as he missed out on points in 16th spot for race one.

Tustin improved to 12th in the second contest with changes having a more positive impact and leading to a points haul following a fast four last laps.

The next race meet is at Cadwell Park from August 17 to 19 closely followed by another EMRA Championship round at Mallory Park.
