Golf and angling skills tested for The Vale players
THE Vale members tested their golf and angling skills with the Chip and Fish competition.
On a sunny morning, players set off over nine holes to record a stableford score which would later be converted to weight.
John Milward led with 21 points and there was a three-way tie in second on 18 returned by Pete Weaver, Paul Beesley and Rob Millward.
Beesley and Millward both put 21lb of carp on the scales at the halfway point in the fishing contest to share the lead.
Millward lost a big carp in the closing stages but Beesley continued to use his skills of catching on the surface to return 38.5lb to beat Millward by 4lb.
