FORMER Bourton Roadrunner Shona Crombi-Hick led home the women in the club’s Humph’s Hilly Half marathon.

Crombi-Hicks, now with Cheltenham and County Harriers, crossed the line in 1 hr 30 mins and was followed by Donna Allen from Hook Norton Harriers in 1.36.

North Cotswold Tri & Run’s Kate Krzywiec finished third 1.37.

Woodstock Harriers’ James Bolton won the men’s race in convincing style with a time of 1.15.

Kieron Summers, from Weston AC, was second in 1.20.

Humph’s Hilly Half is run in memory of Steve Humphries, a former member of Bourton Roadrunners and the 100-marathon club.

His mother and sister started the race which attracted 142 runners.

Two Bourton Roadrunners had strong finishes. Darren Long in (1.41.23) was fifth in the veterans’ 45 category and Dave Turnbull (2.13.07) was fourth in the veterans’ 65 category.

The race was supported by Hacklings Transport and raised funds for Saint Katherine’s House Hospice in memory of Sue Gore who was very well cared for by them.

Her son, Rob Gore, ran the Hilly Half – his first half marathon – in 1.59 and handed out the prizes.
