EVESHAM member Oliver Farrell secured a seventh club championship in a row with a composed display.

Played over two days, the top 12 gross scores and best 24 nett efforts qualified for the second round. 

Conditions on the first day were challenging with a strong westerly wind.  Richard Curnock set the mark with 75 gross 66 nett.

However, a gross 73 saw favourite Farrell take a two-shot lead into day two from Curnock with Mike Callaghan on 76-68. 

Third was Steven Protherough with 77 and Pete Moore scored 72 for best nett on the first day. 

Conditions on the second day were kinder with sunshine greeting the early starters and scoring was improved.

However, following a flawless 68, England international Farrell secured another title with a combined 141 in front of Protherough (153), Steve Wood (162) and Andrew Witts (166).

After another impressive round of 78-70, Callaghan bagged the Frank Swan Cup with 138 nett ahead of Curnock (144), Anthony Rock (146) and Dan Richings (147). 

Malcolm Boscott took a gross prize on the first day for his 84, while round two victors were Will James (71) and Paul Callaghan (80) on nett and gross respectively.

Meanwhile, 45 The Vale seniors set out in rain to play the eclectic third round and only 29 completed the 18 holes.

Andy Jinks (26 handicap 38 points) won ahead of Brian Brumhead (14-36), Steve Kirby (12-36), Brian Bunn (26-34) and Nic Fielden (12-34).

In fine weather, 76 played a four-ball stableford qualifier.

Gerry Clayton (9-39) won Division One followed by Kirby (12-37), Brumhead (14-36) and Ed Mountney (11-33).

Division Two was claimed by Mike Roberts (15-40) in front of David Webb (16-38), Mick Heard (16-37) and Richard Browning (17-36).

Bunn (26-37) took Division Three ahead of Les Cosnett (23-35), Tony Horner (23-34) and Andy Castello (22-34).

Inter-club matches were played with defeats at The Worcestershire and a wet Broadway course followed by a 5-3 home win over The Cotswold. 

The winning pairs were David Rimell and Heard 4&2, David Millard and Keith Richards 3&2, John Milward and Peter Richards 4&2 and Norman Cannock and Bunn 5&4.
