ST David’s are in pole position in the Cotswold League mixed ‘A’ team competition after beating Willersey 2-1.
Willersey started strongly but soon had to rely on defence to prevent Saints’ forwards from wreaking havoc.
Against the run of play, Kyra Bostock put Willersey ahead but Saints’ Megan Jones levelled quickly.
Jones then made it 2-1 before her team saw out the game, soaking up soaked up late pressure.
Willersey won 4-0 against Blockley as an Oliver Hedges brace sandwiched goals from Bostock and Daniel Lee.
Blockley lost 2-0 to both St David’s and Temple Guiting.
Dicken Tilley-Loughrey and Charlie Ardron netted for Temple Guiting, who should have won by more.
Toby Stevens and Harry Winder scored for Saints, who could not get much past Blockley keeper Jamie West.
Temple Guiting’s Ardron put his team ahead against St David’s but Saints earned a late free hit close to goal and Harry Winder made no mistake to claim a 1-1 draw.
