LITTLETON dropped vital points after conceding an injury-time goal for the second week running.

The leaders drew 1-1 at Pilkington XXX and now only lead Midland League Division One on goal difference from Highgate United.

The game hinged on a red card for Littleton’s captain Callum Clarke on 25 minutes.

A spokesman for the visitors said it was the first of many decisions by the officials which angered and bemused both players and spectators.

The game was largely confined to midfield as Littleton sought to nullify their loss of a player.

They went ahead on 40 minutes following the award of a penalty for handball with Will Gayton converting.

The second-half saw Littleton enjoy an equal share of the play as they relied on Jamie Clarke's pace and strength alone up front.

However, Pilkington pushed more men forward and Littleton were trapped in their own half.

A long ball down the middle cleared the defensive wall and the Pilkington forward lobbed the onrushing keeper to break Littleton’s hearts in the 94th minute.

Littleton host Bromsgrove Sporting in a top-of-the-table county derby on Saturday (3pm).
