TEWKESBURY swimmer Harriet Rothwell is celebrating a Great Britain call-up for July's European Junior Open Water Championships in Croatia.
The 15-year-old Ellesmere College Titans prospect, who started at Tewkesbury Swimming Club, qualified after finishing third at the Great North elite race in the Lake District.
Shropshire-based Titans' head coach Alan Bircher said: “I’m over the moon for Hattie. She had a slow start to the season after breaking her collarbone and the whole focus for her has been the preparation for the race in Windermere.
"Hattie has stood up under the pressure and produced an outstanding result and I know she’ll be excellent in Croatia. She just has that open water racing ability."
Rothwell will also represent GB at the Germany National Open Water from July 4 until 6.
