A STUDENT from Kidderminster picked up a prestigious award as he graduated from the University of Worcester last month.
Alex Powell, from Spennells, was presented with the Campaign to Protect Rural England Prize for the Best Independent Study on a Rural or Environmental Topic as he joined over 4,000 other students in graduating at Worcester Cathedral throughout the week of ceremonies.
Alex was one of almost 50 students from Kidderminster to graduate from the University last month.
Professor David Green, the University’s vice chancellor and chief executive, said: “The graduates of 2014 join an illustrious community of over 100,000 Worcester graduates who have made and are making an immense contribution to British society.
“We look forward to hearing about the continuing success of this year’s graduates in the year ahead, and we wish them every happiness.”
