MOST people can only dream of turning their hobby into their business.
But for Great Rissington resident Jenny Stewart, a challenge she embarked on 370 days ago grew from something to do in her spare time to a budding business.
The daily challenge of taking a year of “beautiful photos”
came to an end for the 41-yearold last Saturday, but there is no chance of Jenny putting her camera down anytime soon.
Jenny said: “I set myself the goal at the start.
“I wanted to do a year of pictures with no gaps and I wanted to take beautiful pictures as I didn’t think I would actually achieve what I was setting out to do.
“That goal inspired me initially.
However, as time has gone on it’s become a part of my daily routine and is what I do.
“The daily challenge of trying to improve and do something different creatively is probably what’s replaced the original goal. I will be carrying on beyond 365.”
Jenny’s challenge began after Jenny came across blipfoto.
com, a website that encourages people across the world to share their daily lives with an online community through photographs.
Jenny has now set up her own photography business called Raining Light.
“Blipping has led to me setting up my photography business,”
said Jenny. “My first professional shoot was a load of cakes and a baking class. My client’s delight and others’ reaction to the shots gave me the confidence and impetus to take it further.
“What started out as just a creative hobby has now turned into a business which I absolutely love and have a real passion for.”
