LIBRARY users in Shipston and other venues around Warwickshire are being asked for their opinions on the service.

Public Library User Surveys, known as PLUS, are to be carried out for a week at a time throughout September and October in each of the county’s libraries including the 12 Community Managed Libraries. It gives everyone aged 16 and over who visits them a chance to have their say on stock, staff and services provided in their area.

Surveys will be given to customers when borrowing items and will also be on hand for people to complete when visiting.

As well as feedback on the building-based libraries, surveys will also be carried out over three weeks, to gain feedback on the services provided by the county’s fleet of mobile libraries which serve the five districts. Customer feedback is essential in helping to plan the route, locations for the service to stop and the type of stock the fleet carries.

Councillor Kam Kaur, Portfolio Holder for Customers at Warwickshire County Council said: “The information that we gain from these surveys is vitally important to us. The surveys will help us find out what people who use our libraries really think of what’s on offer and what they’d like to see change.”

A similar survey was last carried out in 2012; nearly 6,500 responses were received across the county. As a result of the 2012 survey, changes were made to services at a local level in libraries.

The survey at Shipston library will take place during week commencing October 12.
