Our Chair, Jenny Johnson, opened our meeting on April 26th, advised members of the "Dementia Friends" training available shortly; about increased charges for Age UK services and the Evesham Festival of Words in July.
Then there were two speakers. The first, Morag Edmundson from Healthwatch Worcestershire, explained that the organisation consults local people on what they think about the health and social care they receive in the area and advises where people can go to find out about services. Healthwatch then informs service providers and those who choose and buy services of the findings and recommends how services can be improved.
The second speaker, Clive Bostle from the Bus Users' Group, advised that the recently formed group had now amalgamated with the Pershore group. They plan to try and get timetables more up to date with relevant information and more readily available. It is also planned to inform bus companies of users'
concerns and ask them
to consult users about proposed changes.
Our next meeting is on May 24th at 1.30 pm. at the Town Hall when Richard Kendrick will speak on "Behind the scenes of a TV and film catering company". There is a small charge and everyone is welcome.
