LOOKING BACK TO CHRISTMAS - THE PIED PIPER APPEAL
Once again, the village of Dymock has shown how generous it can be. During the Christmas preparations, the village decided to raise money to support The Pied Piper Appeal, a local charity, which provides support for sick children in Gloucestershire.
At the annual Carols in the Pub evening in the Beauchamp Arms, villagers gave £505, a record for the function. The Church choir and village young people went carol-singing round the village and raised £166 and the alms given at the Christmas Day Family Service at St Mary’s Church amounted to £116. A further donation from St Mary’s raised the grand total to a marvellous £900.
The photo shows: Wendy Fabian, who spoke eloquently at the Carols in the Pub, very gratefully accepting the cheque for £900 on behalf of the Pied Piper Appeal from Reverend Lara Bloom outside the Beauchamp Arms. Also in the photo are John and Linda Griffiths, the Beauchamp Arms hosts of the Carols in the Pub and Chris May, who organized the carol-singing round the village
