MORE than 260 colourful entries from almost 50 exhibitors graced Ebrington Village Hall for its annual spring show on April 11 which was a big increase from the year before.

The prolonged good weather had reduced entries of tulips but a fine show of daffodil varieties made up for the short fall.

Floral entries judge Jon Heath, head gardener at Bretforton Manor, took his time assessing the entries while Broadway's Joan Cooke judged the floral art. Children's competition entries were judged by Claire Alexander of the Ebrington Arms with help from her son, George.

The silver vase in memory of Miss Stella Elphick for the most points in the show was won by Eric Williams. The shield for the best exhibit in classes 1-17 was won by Margaret Smith. In the children's classes, first prize in the springtime cup cakes up to age nine went to Raphael MacDonald and Noah MacDonald received first prize for the 10-14 age group. For the category spring fever, joint first places went to Ralph and Elgan Purser for up to age nine and Noah MacDonald received first place for the 10-14 age group.

The Annual Summer Show will be held on Saturday August 8 at Washbrook Barn, Ebrington.
