A THREE-and-a-half-mile stretch of the A44 is to be closed for a further two days because of additional resurfacing work.
The road was closed to all traffic between Broadway Hill in a south westerly direction towards Bourton on the Hill on March 24.
Contractors Amey said the reason for total closure was because the road was not wide enough to allow vehicles past when plant was working.
Initial plans were for complete closure until April 15 with diversions along A roads in place.
This week Gloucester County County Highways said the closure would continue for an additional two days.
Bob Skillern, the county council's highways manager said:
"Improvement work on the A44 is progressing well. We also decided to resurface an extra stretch so that the new surface runs up to the county boundary at Fish Hill. As a result of this the work will now be completed on Friday April 17.
