A COTSWOLD micro-brewery which is into its third decade of brewing craft beers has been picked as the official ale of Andoversford Races for 2015.

The deal allows Goff's Brewery, based in Winchcombe, to showcase a fresh range of craft ales and ciders and reward winning connections in each race.

Goff’s, a family business founded in Winchcombe in 1994, is well represented in Gloucestershire and its craft ale brands of Jouster, White Knight, Tournament and Black Knight, are already popular among over 200 outlets from Exeter to north of Birmingham, and east to Oxford.

The Goff’s Bar will be open throughout the day at Andoversford Races, formerly the Cotswold Hunt Point-to-Point, on Sunday April 12 and will be manned by members of the hunt's supporters' club.

In addition, each winning rider in the six races will be presented with a presentation case of Goff’s ales to celebrate their success.

“We’re delighted to get behind this enduring Gloucestershire sporting landmark,” said the brewery's managing director, Marcus Goff. “My family has been associated with racing in and around Cheltenham for over 20 years, and Andoversford Races provides us with a great opportunity both to showcase our craft ales and to be involved with a great day’s sport.”

Andoversford Races was an original venue for the famous closing race of the Cheltenham Festival; the Grand Annual Chase.

Peter McNeile, for Andoversford Races, added: “I first became involved with Marcus when the brewery supported a race at Cheltenham 20 years ago. Craft ales are a growth market presently, and sit very well with the audience that attends point-to-point racing. We look forward to a successful afternoon.”
