RARE breed farmer Adam Henson has been busy brewing his own beer which he launched at a supermarket last week.

The BBC Countryfile presenter has teamed up with Butcombe Brewery to make his own Rare Brew - a beer made of local ingredients.

The brew is made from Maris Otter malting barley - grown on Adam’s farm - along with Herefordshire hops and Mendip spring water to make a golden ale which he launched last Friday in Cheltenham.

His new beer will be sold at 50 Tesco stores in the South West including Stow and Cheltenham as well as 150 Bookers stores and the pub chain Whetherspoons.

Adam is also hoping the beer will be sold at other stores in the Cotswolds.

He said: “It would be lovely if local Cotswold people can buy it. It’s something I have always thought about.

“I have a passion for farming as Butcombe has for brewing and I have wanted to produce a beer sourcing local ingredients for a long time. It’s really lovely.”
