MORE than 30,000 potholes have been repaired in Gloucestershire since the freezing weather wreaked havoc with the county’s roads earlier this year.
In its latest update, Gloucestershire County Council said it had repaired 30,458 potholes as part of Operation Road Rescue since January 25.
In the last two weeks, 5,170 potholes were filled by 70 teams from Gloucestershire Highways.
Teams have been out around the county repairing potholes, patching and resurfacing roads that were badly damaged during the freezing weather.
An extra 30 per cent of highways staff has been diverted into dealing with problems to get the damage repaired as quickly as possible.
Among the roads fixed recently are Station Road, Bourton; New Road and Station Road, Moreton; and roads at Aston-sub-Edge and Willersey.
