SHIPSTON GP Debbie Morgan (above) is swapping her stethoscope for a pair of running shoes on Sunday when she tackles the Virgin London Marathon.
Dr Morgan of the Shipston Medical Centre will be taking part in her first-ever marathon and is bidding to raise £1,500 for the Shipston Home Nursing Charity.
The mum of three has spent the last four months training for the gruelling 26.2-mile race and has clocked up about 50 miles per week to make sure she is ready to join the 45,000 other competitors.
She said: “It’s one hell of a challenge looking after three children, a family home and sticking to a tough marathon training programme but the Shipston Home Nursing charity is a very worthwhile palliative cause and is certainly befitting of the effort I’ve had to put in.”
