The owners of a village pub have revealed the results of a minor refurbishment as well as a new name.
The 18th century Three Horseshoes in Asthall near Burford, earned its name in the 1900s as the farrier innkeepers replaced horseshoes for travellers passing through the village.
But in 1977, it was renamed The Maytime.
Today the pub, now owned by Daylesford, has returned to its roots, becoming The Three Horseshoes in a nod to its history.

Following a "light" refurbishment, the pub which has six bedrooms, a large garden with an outdoor bar on the banks of the Windrush and views across the Cotswold hills is back in business.

The bedrooms, described as small but perfectly formed, have been redecorated in natural tones and materials.
There are King or super-king-sized beds, premium bedlinen, walk-in showers and Bamford bath products.
Downstairs the room names reflect the pub's history with design details suggesting a blacksmith's forge.
The pub will serve a menu of seasonally changing dishes made with local produce from Daylesford Organic, craft beers and ciders and a wine and cocktail list.
In the winter, there is a firepit in the garden with sheepskin blankets for customers.
The pub is located on Asthall Manor in the village of Asthall on the River Windrush about six miles west of Witney.
