A NEW two-storey homeware shop will be opening in Cirencester next week.

Staff at Sue Parkinson are excited to welcome customers to their brand-new shop in Unit 16, Elliott Road, Love Lane Industrial Estate, Cirencester next week.

Founder Sue Parkinson first took over her mother-in-law's Broadway shop in 1973 and turned it into a fashion and lifestyle business.

Over the last 50 years the family-run business has moved to the Corn Hall in Cirencester's Market Place, set up a website and opened an office and a warehouse.

In addition, Sue's children Sally and Bob have also joined the business.

The family have decided to open a second bigger shop dedicated to homeware in Love Lane Industrial Estate because they felt that the size of their fashion store in the Market Place restricted how much homeware products they could offer to local customers.

This brand-new 2,500 sq. ft homeware store - which used to be three separate units - will stock everything from crockery to pictures, candles to table lamps, sofas to bar stools.

An opening date has not yet to be confirmed but staff have invited local residents and loyal customers to enjoy a glass of fizz at the store's official launch party between 2pm and 7pm on Thursday, December 7.

Sally Parkinson said: "Our website has always had a huge homewares offering, but there is something so lovely about being able to touch and feel the pieces that make a house a home.

"Some of the many brands we will stock in the new shop include Nkuku, Skagerak, Marimekko, Broste and Vanilla Fly, so there really will be something for everyone and every budget.

"When customers are shopping for larger items, it's great to be able to park right outside.

"Parking can be an issue in the town centre, but there is so much more space in Love Lane.

"We've had an office in Love Lane for a few years and have found it to be such a lovely little community of great local independent businesses and cafes, and we're proud to be a part of it."
