THE lineup for a well-known music festival has been announced.

The concerts take place in St James' Church and artists include Steven Isserlis, Freiburger Barockorchester, Vox Luminis, Richard Goode and the Takacs Quartet.

Festival president Paul Lewis said: "The Chipping Campden International Music Festival has distinguished itself over the years as an event which presents performances by established artists of the highest quality, while at the same time nurturing talented musicians at the outset of their careers.

"In a world where commercialism and short term gain can often take priority over substance, the values that have always been promoted by this festival are to be cherished more than ever."

Also performing this year will be The Academy of Ancient Music and Richard Egarr, Paul Lewis, Alina Ibragimova, Cédric Tiberghien, Septura Brass Septet, Roderick Williams, Iain Burnside, Jack Liebeck and Nikolai Lugansky.

As always, the Festival Academy Orchestra will also be performing, led by Ruth Rogers and conducted by Thomas Hull.

Festival patron of education, Julian Lloyd-Webber said: "As usual I am delighted to endorse the great educational work done by Chipping Campden International Music Festival.

"The festival’s priority for 2017 is to extend its support of orchestral playing in the secondary school sector."
