A MOUTH-watering week of free food tastings is taking place in Winchcombe for people to sample a wide range of goodies on offer from carefully-sourced suppliers.

The tastings week is being held at Food Fanatics delicatessen, in the town's North Street, and runs from Monday November 9 to Sunday November 15 to launch a brand new food hall.

Co-owners Martin Williams and Richard Faulkner opened the delicatessen 11 years ago and their new food hall will feature the extensive range of groceries, wine, beer, spirits, fresh produce, greengrocery and dairy currently available, as well as many new product lines from specially sourced suppliers from the South West and beyond. The coffee shop area will also be extended into the food hall to cater for more customers.

Along with the tastings, there will also be chance to enter a free-entry prize draw to win a luxury Food Fanatics hamper worth £100.

The event will include tastings from Just Rachel Ice Cream and Desserts; Cotswold Gold Rapeseed Oils; Cotswold Pudding and Pies; Broadway Wines; Tewkesbury Mustard and Craft Drinks. Food Fanatics will also provide tastings around the shop of products from Bramley and Gage; Wild and Wicked Chocolates and Cotswold Fayre.

On Friday November 31 the delicatessen will be supporting Children In Need day with special fundraising events in the store.

The extensive deli counter will still be a prominent feature of the food hall packed with cheeses, pies, pates, cold meats and olives. All the delicatessen’s existing products will remain, including its gluten-free items and frozen ranges of ice-creams, sorbets, desserts, pastry, fish and hand-made meals.

“Creating the Food Hall seemed a natural way to enhance and extend the wide range of quality food and produce that we offer and that our customers love and expect," said Mr Williams.”
