ST PETER'S Church, Winchcombe, is hosting a public debate by parliamentary election candidates for the Tewkesbury borough on April 7 from 7pm.
The event is being organised by Radio Winchcombe and all five currently declared candidates are expected to attend.
To make sure as many local issues can be covered as possible residents are being asked to submit their questions in advance, either on the door on the night or through an election debate question box which has been set up in Food Fanatics in North Street.
Nick Mundy, manager of Radio Winchcombe has helped pull the event together and said: “As a local community radio station we wanted to take the election debate to a more local level for Winchcombe and the surrounding villages.
“Of course national issues like immigration, welfare and the health service are of great importance to us, but local concerns – the matters we want our future MP to represent and address – are important too.
“This is a great opportunity for local residents to hear what our parliamentary candidates have to say about Winchcombe issues, and what their party’s policies will really mean for Winchcombe and surrounding areas. It promises to be a lively and informative event.”
Tickets are not required for the debate.
