THESE dramatic pictures show the extent of a large blaze which was fought by over 20 firefighters.

Cotswold Journal reader Sarah Collett sent in the pictures of the fire which covered 20 acres on top of Sudeley Hill.

More than 20 firefighters fought back the flames for about two hours after the fire broke out at just before 9.30pm on Sunday, August 24.

A pump from Winchcombe station was initially called to the fire but quickly requested back up due to the scale of the blaze.

Extra crews from Cheltenham East, Cheltenham West and Gloucester North stations as well as a water carrier from Cheltenham East fire station also attended.

Stubble from cut crops was burning and over 20 firefighters used hose reel and beaters to tackle the blaze.
