SHIPSTON Town Council has elected its a new Mayor for the coming year.
At Monday night's meeting, councillors elector their current deputy, Philip Vial, to take over from outgoing Mayor Ronnie Murphy.
Members also elected town councillor Jackie Warner to take over as Deputy Mayor.
Cllr Vial, who has lived in Shipston for the past nine years and has served on the council for six-and-half, said he was "delighted and honoured".
"I'm really pleased I'm that my fellow town councillors had the faith to elect me," he said. "I'm honoured by the fact I'm taking over from Ronnie who has been an absolutely superb mayor and put in a lot of effort to promote Shipston in the last year.
"Shipston is a wonderful place and I'm genuinely proud to be representing it as mayor."
