New councillor co-opted in Moreton

First published in News

MORETON Town Council has co-opted a new member into its ranks.

Steve Pomeroy, who is an active member of the action group Moreton Against Sainsbury's Supermarket (MASS), was voted in by councillors at Monday night's meeting by five votes to two with one abstention.

Two other candidates, Richard Delahunty and Lys Cowap also went for the role.

Chairman Ali Coggins urged them to try again next year.

"Next year there will be 11 councillors," she said. "East of the town needs representation badly."
