JEWELLERY worth more than £30,000 was stolen from a house in Broadway earlier this month.

Burglars broke into the house in Lifford Gardens at 7.31pm on Friday, January 17 by climbing onto a conservatory roof at the back of the house and forcing open a window.

They made a very untidy search of the main bedroom, from where the items were stolen, before setting off a house alarm when they entered a second bedroom and fled through the back window.

The items stolen include a gold ruby and diamond ring worth £5,000, an 18-carat gold Omega de Ville ladies watch worth £2,530 and a silver Gucci watch with diamonds worth £2,000.

A pearl and diamond drop silver necklace worth £1,100 and a large number of other rings, necklaces, earring and brooches.

Detective Constable Ian Wright of Worcester police’s proactive unit said: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in that part of Broadway on Friday, January 17 or saw any unfamiliar vehicles in the area.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered any high value second-hand jewellery.”
