CHILDREN at Swell School have been baking bread to spread the word about the North Cotswold Food Bank.
This year the Year 3 children went against the grain and, instead of baking a traditional harvest sheaf, they baked the words ‘food bank’ which took pride of place among the display of food items at their harvest festival. The service took place at St Mary’s Church, Lower Swell, and the infant children performed a short play about the importance of food to the people it is distributed to.
Food items collected will be donated to the food bank, based at Naunton Baptist Church. The children also welcomed Reverend Josie Goodwin the new curate.
