TOAD of Toad Hall has proved a popular choice by PODS and was a sell out long before the week-long run opened on Monday.
Those who have missed out on tickets have missed a treat, for PODS have hit the heights with a show that is slick, colourful and very entertaining.
Sue Price brings out the best of a huge cast with a depth of talent that is the envy of much bigger societies, as always seems to be the case with PODS productions.
Rob Brown as Toad gives a masterful performance as he hops from one craze to another, ending up in prison from where he makes a cunning escape.
His friends Mole (Scott Collison), Water Rat (Steve Miller) and Mr Badger (Peter Wilkinson) are perfect foils to Toad as they do their best to reform him.
The Wild Wooders’ party at Toad Hall is brilliantly staged, culminating with the raid by the four friends to save Toad’s home.
The orchestra under musical director Ian Gerrard plays its part in a production that will add to the long list of highlights from PODS.
