EVESHAM United overcame transport issues to record a seventh straight win in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West.

The Robins won 2-1 at Barnstaple Town but they had problems with the team coach on the way to north Devon before eventually arriving at Mill Road.

Paul Collicutt's side then fell behind to James Mayne's 12th-minute strike but Evesham's prolific forward Lance Smith took just four minutes to level the scores.

Mark Magee's second goal for Evesham maintained their promotion push as he swooped for what turned out to be the winner in the 68th minute.

Teenage Forest Green midfielder Louis McGrory, in his second spell on loan at United, was unable to figure due to illness.

Suspended midfielder Ashley Williams was also among a string of players missing for Collicutt but fourth-placed Evesham still made it eight league games unbeaten to leave their hosts sixth from bottom.

Evesham: Sawyer, Dovey, Harding, Stanley, Fahy, Turley, Sheehan, Binns, Magee, Smith, Mann. Subs: Odiero, Gilder, Sloggett.

Attendance: 187.
