A 34-year-old man has been charged with attempted wounding in Broad Street, Worcester.
Adam Snell of Bransford Road, Worcester appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Friday charged with one count of attempted wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, and one count of possession of a bladed article.
The case was transferred and he will next appear at Worcester Crown Court on Monday, July 16.
Officers were called just before 11am on Thursday, June 14 to reports of a man carrying a weapon.
Nobody was injured during the incident and the man was quickly located and arrested by officers.
Speaking previously, Inspector Alex Warner said: "I want to reassure residents and local businesses that we are treating this as an isolated incident."
