MP Luff advocates a cull of badgers. Far more productive would be a cull of MP’s to approx 200. There are far too many of them.
They cost us a lot of money and are almost impossible to get rid of between elections as they hang on for their huge pensions - whether rent their own homes to themselves at hugely inflated rates or employ wives or student sons at University.
No qualifications or training is required. But there is no shortage of applicants for the lucrative positions with all the associated perks and allowances (19 subsidised bars and diners in the Houses of Parliament).
Rapidly reducing their incomes and no second jobs should downsize MPs to those whose motivation is to be of service to the common good and change the world.
Or should we try the vaccination route, it would be worth every penny.
