REGARDING your front page story on Thursday, May 29, (Planners agree first phase of country park's £30 million project) and B and M home stores going to Worcester Road.

This is just more nails in the lid of the coffin to kill the town all together.

I see councillors walking about the town; don't they see what we the public see – shops closing, a decline within the town centre?

We have buses now that come to the park from far and wide, but they don't come in the town as the bus parking in Merstow Green is inadequate.

I'm sorry, but Councillor Jo Sandalls is living the dream if she thinks this project will entice people into a dying town.

Eagle one and its parent company Eagle Land, as we all know, are an investment company. They are there to make money not to help the town prosper.

The footfall will soon dry up within the town centre, and the town will not survive with only charity shops and phone shops.

The council needs to set its agenda for the future of the town centre as we have

enough out-of-town stores.
