IN their letter printed in last week’s Evesham Journal, John and Frances Hoskins add their voices to those concerned about our inability to control housing development in our area and write, “Let us vote for a government that promises to tackle potential green disaster”.
But which government? It is inevitable that a Labour government would be putting the need for affordable housing high on its list of priorities, and would be likely to be less concerned about possible damage to the countryside than any of the alternative options.
The party which should be defending the countryside is the Conservatives, and they are the ones who are now playing fast and loose with our planning system to allow developers a free hand in building almost anywhere.
So which way do we vote next time round?
