WHO IS YOUR HEADTEACHER?

Alastair Cook is the headteacher. He has taught in leading schools in America, Australia and Oxford, and also been the headmaster of prestigious prep schools in West Sussex and Kenya.

He says that his current school has “the unique combination of a beautiful setting, outstanding teaching, state-of-the-art facilities and delightfully happy pupils” and he has not experienced this so far anywhere else in the world.

HOW DOES THE SCHOOL CATER FOR ITS PUPILS’ NEEDS?

Mr Cook explains that the school’s distinctive ethos and vision is to “provide a firstclass education in a secure, caring and disciplined environment where every pupil can fulfil his or her potential – academically, creatively, physically, socially and spiritually.”

The school is fortunate to have stunning resources.

For sports there is a large new sports hall, an allweather pitch, and outdoor tennis and netball courts.

Creatively there are fabulous art studios and a music school with plenty of practice rooms.

Outside there arevegetable gardens, a ForestSchool and the wonderful country campus which are usedto full effect.

AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

The pupils are recognised for their achievements in a range of activities, particularly sports, equestrian, music and art – they compete and win in Worcestershire and Herefordshire events. At year eight, the majority of pupils move on to Malvern College.

THE FUTURE

A highlight this term will be the production of the musical Joseph.

More than half the pupils are involved either as actors, singers, in the orchestra or supporting behind the scenes.

In a few weeks’ time there will be a great school bakeoff, where pupils will make cakes themselves in DT lessons and sell them for charity. While later in the term everyone is looking forward to showing off their talents at the school show for Children in Need.
