Owner of Love Hair, Katie Hemming, has thanked the fire service for their help but said she doesn’t know when they will be able to reopen.

“We got a call to go to the salon because there was a leak, and when we arrived, we couldn’t quite believe it,” she said.

“The room above us had a massive mains water leak, with water gushing through our ceiling.

“Firefighters were called and were amazing, but it was too late.

“Our salon has been destroyed.”

Katie added: “We are devastated and hope it can be a fast turnaround so our lovely clients don’t have too much disruption.

“Thank you for everyone’s support today from all the other shop owners, friends, family, our team and all our clients

“We are sorry to let you down but look forward to seeing you all as soon as possible.”

Anyone with an upcoming appointment will be contacted by the salon over the next few days.

Severn Trent was contacted but had no further information to add.
