A 'DEVASTATED' salon owner has spoke of the moment she found out her business had been flooded.

Love Hair, on Broadway's high street, has had to close following a leak earlier this week.

Water could be seen gushing through the salon’s ceiling, with the floors now drenched.

Owner, Katie Hemming, said: “We got a call to go to the salon because there was a leak, and when we arrived, we couldn’t quite believe it.

“The room above us had a massive mains water leak, with water gushing through our ceiling.

“Firefighters were called and were amazing, but it was too late.

“Our salon has been destroyed.”

The leak occurred on Tuesday night, with emergency services called to the scene.

Katie added: “We are devastated and hope it can be a fast turnaround so our lovely clients don’t have too much disruption.

“Thank you for everyone’s support today from all the other shop owners, friends, family, our team and all our clients.

“We are sorry to let you down but look forward to seeing you all as soon as possible.”

Earlier this year, Katie picked up a Hairdressers Journal Creative Hairdressing Award.

The celebrations are set to continue, with the salon planning to mark its 10th birthday come July 19.

It is not yet clear how long the salon will have to close, but a team of builders has been put on standby ready to work “all day and night” to get it looking back to its best, Katie said.

Anyone with an upcoming appointment will be contacted by the salon over the next few days.
