Crowns are used to rebuild teeth which have become damaged, have large fillings or have been weakened by caries (dental decay). Sometimes crowns are also used to improve aesthetics at the front of the mouth. The crown fits over the remaining tooth after it is prepared restoring its natural shape and contour.

Bridges are used to fill a gap and restore function or aesthetics where a tooth or teeth have been lost. In this example a three unit bridge is being used to replace a missing tooth by using the teeth either side (abutment teeth) to support the bridge.

Dental implants replace the root of a missing tooth or teeth and form a stable foundation onto which new teeth can be constructed to restore aesthetics and function. They are usually made from a metal base that is coated in dental porcelain to make it look like a natural tooth.
A root filling or root canal treatment (RCT) is a filling which is placed into the root canal(s) of a tooth to seal it and prevent further infection. It involves the cleaning and removal of infection from the root canal(s) of a tooth and is required when the pulp of the tooth has become infected through decay or injury.

Dentures are removable prosthesis used to replace missing teeth as well as restoring aesthetics and function. Every denture case is unique and requires the clinical skill and judgement of the dentist to provide the best possible treatment.

Fillings are used to replace part of a tooth that has been lost through caries (decay) or from accidental damage.
Orthodontics is a way of straightening or moving teeth using fixed or removable appliances (braces). This is usually done to help improve appearance of the teeth, facial profile and to distribute the pressure of biting more evenly.

Dental x-rays are useful diagnostic tools which provide valuable information to the dentist about your teeth and the structures around them. This helps the dentist to make the right diagnosis and give you the right treatment.
