George Thomas has signed a two-year deal with Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

The 22-year-old top-order batter will join the team ahead of the 2027 season and will be available for all formats of the game.

He said: "It is a really exciting opportunity for me to develop my career at Worcestershire across all formats and hopefully kick onto the next level.

"The club is in a really good place and are building for the future with an ambition to win trophies, which is a big motivation for me.

"I feel like I have a lot to offer in both red-ball and white-ball cricket, so I am really looking forward to getting started with the group."

Thomas, who has previously played for Sussex and Somerset, made 39 appearances across formats and featured for England at the 2022 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup.

He is known for his powerful ball-striking, with a List A career-best score of 106 and a top T20 Blast innings of 57 off 27 balls.

Ashley Giles, CEO of Worcestershire, said: "As a club, we are always looking to strengthen and give ourselves a platform to be as competitive as we can be.

"Signing someone like George, a young, talented cricketer who is available for all three formats and is eager to better himself, only helps us moving forward.

"We are really excited about what he can bring to the side and delighted to have him on board with us at Worcestershire."
