A Bourton runner has secured her third victory at a prestigious event.

Steph Lane from Bourton Roadrunners triumphed at the Eynsham 10km race, marking a return to form.

The 35-year-old, who previously won the high-profile Oxfordshire race in 2024, outpaced nearly 600 competitors to take home the title once again.

Ms Lane, determined to end the racing season on a high, clocked a swift five minutes and 36 seconds for the first mile, maintaining her lead despite fierce competition from 255 other women.

With a finishing time of 37 minutes and 15 seconds, she crossed the line 30 seconds ahead of her nearest rival.

This was her fastest time since she was 18, and the victory was a welcome relief following disappointment in her last couple of races.

Bourton Roadrunners' Kevin Goodwill also put in a strong performance, finishing with a time of 39 minutes and 53 seconds.

Rebecca Townsend completed the course in 43 minutes and one second, while Andrew Peaston clocked in at 51 minutes and 39 seconds.

Further afield, the club's chair, Ian Tolfts, and his wife Jo, got into the Christmas spirit early by participating in the Skipton Santa Fun Run.

Now in its 16th year, the event has grown from 400 runners and walkers to more than 2,000 participants.

Starting and finishing in Skipton High Street, and taking in Aireville Park and Skipton Woods, it raised over £63,000 for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice and other local charities in 2024.

Bourton Roadrunners were also out in force at various Parkrun events over the weekend.

In Barnstaple, North Devon, Steph Holton ran her race in 26 minutes and 55 seconds, while Gary Holton finished in 31 minutes and 42 seconds.

Jaq Underwood completed the Clevedon Salthouse Fields Parkrun in North Somerset in 28 minutes and 11 seconds.

Elsewhere, Susan Hunt and Linda Edwards participated in the East Park, Wolverhampton, Parkrun, with times of 26 minutes and 23 seconds and 30 minutes and 56 seconds, respectively.
