AS the road racing season comes to an end, there was still time for some success for members of the Bourton Roadrunners over the last two weekends. 

Most recently, Bourton's Maine Emes ventured to Vouliagmeni (Athens, Greece) for a half Iron Man competition. She completed the 1.9 km sea swim in 30:43, followed by 90 km of cycling (2:58:18), then the 21 km half marathon run in a blistering 1:47:59.

Finishing 6th in a field of 163 women, Emes completed the event in 5:26:23 seconds.

As for Bourton’ Barry O’Leary, he joined over 900 other runners at the Battersea Half Marathon and was satisfied with his time of 2:06:26.

Lorna Shawcross opted for the Ilmington 10k; achieving a time of 55:05.

In the Park Runs last weekend, here are the times:

Cheltenham Pittville Park: Chris Dry – 27:49.

Cirencester: John Conway – 51:33.

Warwick Racecourse: Susan Hunt – 25:49 

Wolford Wood: Dougal Hamilton-Smith – 21:00

The weekend before last, Kevin Goodwill and Rebecca Townsend competed in the Oxford half marathon. Goodwill finished in a time of 1:42:11, whilst Townsend recorded a personal best in a time of 1:52:27, almost eight minutes faster than her previous best effort.

Louise Hamilton-Smith and Allie Quinn completed their preparations for the New York Marathon in just over a week with a trip to Bath for the Bath Half Marathon. Hamilton-Smith finished in 2:17:54, while Quinn crossed the line in 2:34:04.
