THREE members of Bourton Roadrunners were in action at the prestigious Chester Marathon at the weekend.

The young trio of Eva Shoemark, in only her second full marathon, ran with Tom Hitchman and Alex Pye, maintaining a consistent pace throughout the 26.2 miles.

Eva and Tom, finishing together, were rewarded with a superb time of 3:23:33, with Alex just four minutes behind in 3:27:45.

On the same day, Bourton's Darren Long and Maxine Emes raced nearer to home, at the Cricklade 10k, where Darren finished first-man in the Vet 50 category in a time of 41:07, while Maxine was third woman overall (2nd LV40) in 45:49.
