Top of the league Bishops Cleeve continued their pursuit of the Hellenic League Premier title this weekend with a 2-0 victory over sixth place Longlevens AFC.

An early goal from Jordan Annear in the eighth minute got Cleeve off to a great start early on in the game as the striker got his eleventh goal of the campaign.

The second goal of the game from Kevin Slack finished off the game in the second half, putting Cleeve out of touch from Longlevens.

The win sees Paul Collicutt’s men go nine points clear at the top of the division, although Bradford town have a game in hand.

While Cleeve were celebrating their big win, Bourton Rovers lost 2-0 to Newent Town, further cementing their place at the bottom of the table.

A first half double from Jordan Cooper gave Newent a lead that would ultimately seal the win the away side before the half time whistle was blown.

Bourton followed up their defeat on Sunday with another defeated to Worcester Raiders on Tuesday, losing 6-0 to the Worcester outfit.

Rovers are still stuck right at the bottom of the table, four points and a massive 47 goal difference behind Abingdon United.

Meanwhile, fellow Cotswold side Moreton Rangers also failed to win, losing 2-0 to Clanfield 85.

Moreton continued their poor run of form, managing to win just one of their last nine fixtures in all competitions.

Two second half goals from Josh Gibbens and Jozef Fullerton ended and chance that Moreton had of hanging on for a point as Clanfield continued their push to the top of the table.

Staying at the top of the table, Cheltenham Saracens played out a boring 0-0 draw against Studley at the weekend before a 3-1 defeat at promotion hopefuls Clanfield 85 on Tuesday.
