IT was a weekend of postponements for clubs in the Cotswolds as the winter weather claimed a number of games across the non-league pyramid.

Moreton Rangers' fixture with bottom of the league Abingdon United and Bourton Rovers' home clash with Hereford Pegasus were both called-off due to the freezing conditions.

But there was a game for high-flying Bishops Cleeve, who's lead at the top of the Hellenic League Premier Division grew to six points following their 3-1 win at Hereford lads Club.

They left it late to beat mid-table Lads but goals in the last fifteen minutes from substitute Jake Rhodes and striker Blaine Waugh saw Bishops seal the three points and stretch their advantage at the summit.

The visitors had led early doors through Jack Watts' opener but Lads equalised two minutes later before Rhodes came on to score with 75 minutes on the clock and Waugh made sure with time almost up.

They are now six points ahead of second-placed Cribbs and seven in front of Malvern Town, but the malvern do have two games in hand.

After a week off, Moreton will be in action under new management this weekend away at Studley, whilst Bourton will look to end their horrible run of form when they host Milton United.
