BISHOP'S Cleeve maintained their position at the summit of the Hellenic League Premier after scoring EIGHT goals at home against Chipping Sodbury.

It was an incredibly efficient display by the hosts, who had six scorers on the day as they romped to a massive league win to stretch their lead at the top of the table to four points.

It was 5-0 at the break thanks to a Joe Selman brace and goals from Kevin Slack, Jordan Annear and Kieran Alder.

Jack Watts Blaine Waughbagged a goal each in the second-half and substitute Harrison Reeves completed the rout with eight minutes left to play.

Cleeve will look to continue their good form when they go to Hereford Lads Club on Saturday.

This weekend saw the Cotswold Derby take place as Moreton Rangers hosted Bourton Rovers at London Road.

Both sides were desperate for a positive result in what has been an extremely difficult season for both clubs.

Moreton and Bourton started the day in the bottom four and both had just three wins from their opening 17 league games.

But it was the hosts who took the spoils to register a crucial 2-1 win that saw them go five points clear of their rivals.

First-half goals from Mark Magee and Matty Irons sealed the three points for Rangers, despite a second-half goal from Rovers' Danny Way.

Moreton were brought back down to earth on Tuesday night, however, as they were beaten 3-1 by Milton United.

Cheltenham Saracens stayed top of the division after beating Shortwood Town last weekend and Cirencester Town Development on Tuesday evening.
