WORCESTER Raiders might have shipped four goals on the road but blasted in double that tally in a 12-goal thriller at Darlaston Town.

Ex-Worcester City hitman Dave Reynolds bagged four, the last from the penalty spot, with Kirk Layton and Kyle Belmonte also on the score sheet and Ryan Rowe providing a double as Raiders racked up an 8-4 victory.

It fired Karl Gormley’s men up to third in the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division a week after having a home match with Wolverhampton Casuals called off due to Claines Lane – currently being redeveloped by Worcestershire FA – not being ready to host matches.

Next weekend’s home clash with Wem Town is still scheduled to take place at Claines Lane according to the league’s Full Time portal.

Pershore Town blew a half-time lead to lose 2-1 at home to Wednesfield.

James Baldwin latched on to Jordan Hayward’s ball over the top and kept his cool when in behind to give Town the lead in first-half stoppage time.

However, missed chances before that came back to bite Les Jones’s men as the visitors overturned the deficit in the second half.

Dean Fisher’s first-half double was also wiped out as Littleton drew 2-2 with AFC Bridgnorth. The hosts had led by two at the break thanks to the brace.

Droitwich Spa played in one of only two Division One fixtures and made up ground on the leaders with a 3-1 win at Tipton Town.

Matt Hunt and Connor Collins (2) got the goals as the Saltmen moved up to sixth, eight points off top spot with three games in hand on most of the teams above them.

In Southern League Premier Division Central, Bromsgrove Sporting also let slip an advantage in a 3-1 home defeat to on-song Nuneaton Borough.

Tom Taylor lashed in from close range from a scrappy 13th-minute corner but Joel Kettle levelled 26 minutes in, converting a Luke Benbow free-kick at the far post.

Alex Henshall’s tap in turned the tables with Callum Powell’s deflected effort looping in 13 minutes from time punishing a sluggish second-half showing from the Rouslers.

Alvechurch returned to winning ways by beating St Ives Town 1-0 thanks to a fine solo run and finish from Javia Roberts.

Third-bottom Redditch United’s struggles continued with a 1-0 defeat at home to Barwell.

In Southern League Division One South, Evesham United host Willand Rovers tomorrow (Sunday, 2pm).

In Midland Football League Premier Division, an own goal followed by Jack Downing’s finish saw Stourport Swifts win 2-0 at home to Highgate United.

Former Worcester City frontrunner Joe Bates scored but could not prevent 10-man Westfields going out of the League Cup.
